I hope to succeed in my education so that I can move forward and help those in need.
About Me
I am currently in my second year in the Sacramento State Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. I take great pride in my academics, and always aim for a 4.0 GPA. I have also been on the Dean's list many times. I graduated from fresno-state-university">Fresno State University with honors and was nominated for the Dean's Medal Award for the College of Health and Human Services. My career goal since high school was to become a Physical Therapist and help individuals who have suffered from physical disability or hardship.
I have been a mentor and sacramento">tutor as both an eighth grader and in high school. As an eighth grader, I was assigned to sixth graders already having trouble with school both academically and socially. As a senior in high school, I was part of a organization called Link Crew. This organization aimed to help freshman mold themselves into the high school environment, and become a functional component of it. I was assigned to a freshman English class for an entire year. I was a sacramento">tutor, mentor, and friend to these students. These experiences I will remember forever; because I was able to make a difference in the lives of many of these students who were set on the right path with my help.
My sacramento">tutoring approach is not the same for every student I work with. There is not one approach I can use universally for every student. I have never struggled academically myself, but I have experienced the struggles of my friends, family, and the students I have worked with. Most students just need to change their mind set and study habits. My first approach with any student is to build a relationship with them. This way when I stress how important education is to their futures they will take my advice. I also believe in repetition. I repeat, review, and recite important information so they remember the content. This method usually works wonders, and the student responds well to it. My final goal is to make students want to learn and succeed.
