Fun Facts
I've been playing the drums since I was 7 years old. I picked up the clarinet around aged 10 and played it through middle school (played in my own band in High School). I am currently learning to play the piano and looking to pick up the guitar. I love Football and Basketball with a passion and love to talk about sports.
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in business. I am preparing to go to Law School because my goal is to become a Lawyer. I also want to start my own company in Houston that benefits young people.
I’ve worked with over 50 students at the High school level working on math and science skills during the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board Summer Bridge Program. I also have worked with High School students during a summer program on TSU’s campus that focused on teaching students the fundamentals of business and how the business world works. In this program we covered math, reading, law, finance, economics, and accounting. In my spare time I am a music instructor for kids 5 and up teaching them how to play the drums.
My approach is simple, 1) get students interested in the subject they need help in by finding common interest that can be related back to the subject. 2) Make connections between the student’s interests and the subject to keep student interest and encourage the student to want to learn more. Lastly giving sound advice at the right time is important and encouraging good behavior. Being firm but kind and being invested in the student’s success will help students’ succeed in school.
