Fun Facts
I enjoy stories. Stories are what created me through my youth. Growing up, I would watch a lot of movies, read many books, and play a lot of video games. I know what you may be thinking, "Video games? Those won't teach you anything." However, through the many stories I have encountered, I have learned so many life lessons and so many natural abilities. In many stories, the hero makes an effort to help those in need despite the repercussions they may receive. I live by a rule that is, "You d
About Me
I am a student at California State University, Fresno where I just transferred in Fall 2012. Being new to the area, I stick mainly to my academics. I know what I want in life and I know the path I must take to obtain it. I plan on getting my Ph.D in Cognitive Psychological Research. For those of you who do not know, this is not a therapy position. Psychology is much more than therapy. I want to learn about the brain processes. I have always been a skeptic by nature and I like to question life which makes this future role for me so great. I have a long way to go before I have my doctorate but it will all be worth it in the end and that is when the real fun begins.
I have tutored many of my friends and fellow classmates in college. I usually take classes I am interested in so I do much better in the subject by default. When I notice someone is in need of help, I go out of my way to help them with the material. For example, I was taking a Biology class and I noticed the friends I had made in the class were disappointed with their grade. I took it unto myself to see that they received my help. I want to see my friends succeed in school and it disappoints me when they do not. Another example, because one testimony is not enough, I took a Psychology Research & Methods class in Fall 2012 at Fresno State. This class is a 5 unit class which means it is a massive amount of work and one of the hardest classes anyone can take in the Psychology major. A student approached me after talking with the professor and asked if she could receive help from me. I did what I could and taught her to the best of my abilities. Sure enough, she passed the next exam quite easily.
My fresno">tutoring approach is quite simple, but it can be complex. No one student can learn from just one method. Learning is best when the student is involved, interacting, and most importantly, relating the material to real world applications. If they student does not understand the material, they may be
