Fun Facts
I enjoy sports; I played football and soccer in high school- I really enjoy any type of active sport. I also enjoy music; not only listening to music but playing my guitar or trumpet in my spare time. I also have my nerdy side. I do play video games and follow up on current technology. This is probably the reason why I am working to be a future engineer because I am fascinated by today's technology.
About Me
I am currently a freshman at California State University Los Angeles, studying to be a mechanical engineer. I am expected to graduate in summer 2016 and I hope to one day work for JPL (NASA) or BOIENG.
My last year in high school, I was able to be apart of the tutoring program for our school's AVID program. I had already been a part of the AVID program for 4 years and my last year I was able to tutor the incoming freshman in subjects like math and science.
The AVID tutoring process, I believe, is very helpful for the student not only because it strengthens the student's understanding but because they do this through critical thinking. I don't give the student a answer, I simply lead them through questioning that stimulates critical thinking and the student to go back to their notes. I encourage good note taking skills because they are a great resource for studying.
