Fun Facts
I write every day and last year I published my first book! Writing can soothe the soul and I hope to help students find just how amazing language can be whether English or Spanish!
About Me
Currently I work as a Spanish interpreter at IU Health. Though I am an interpreter, I am also a licensed Indiana teacher for English grades 5-12 who has two years teaching experience. I have high standards for myself and for my students. I am creative and can come up with fun ways to teach all styles of learners.
Experience
I have two years experience teaching. One year I taught at the American School in Nicaragua. It is a rigorous college prep school that expected nothing but the best. I also taught for year at an Indianapolis charter school. I have experience both with middle school and high school students. I have also taken 20 credit hours in Special Education and passed the Exceptional Learning Praxis test. I have been working with youth for 7 years.
Approach
My approach sis to help students and parents produce a learning goal and plan steps of action to reach that goal in the most appropriate time. I believe in helping students identify their strengths and learning styles to meet them where they are. We build with a block at a time until we make a tower of their learning and accomplishments.
