Fun Facts
I'm the oldest of five. I love playing guitar and doing audio production in my spare time. I hope to expand to teaching guitar and audio production once my skills are more polished, with a long-term goal of starting a non-profit audio production for youth.
About Me
I just finished my associate's degree in sociology at Salt Lake Community College this year. While attending, I was awarded work-study to tutor at the local YMCA. I hope to continue to pursue my education until I decide what I really want to do while helping others along the way.
Experience
As a substitute teacher for American Preparatory Academy (APA), I had opportunities to teach at every grade level with the exception of pre-school. While at APA, I was also able to tutor some students with special needs one-on-one with much success. The YMCA was able to give me experience just as valuable as what I learned at APA, except for with pre-school students instead of older students. In college, I've also been able to assist my peers in areas of study that are outside of my major.
Approach
I lied to myself for nearly twenty years thinking that I couldn't do math. None of my teachers ever caught the error. To that end, I pride myself on catching what others don't see in order to get the best results out of a student's learning experience. As a tutor, I believe that students see the most success in what interests them. My job is to keep them interested in their best subject: Learning, even if that may mean losing interest in some less-productive subjects along the way.

American Preparatory Academy required that we teach basic ideas about Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism for a couple years that I was there; the lessons were consistently successful.
