Fun Facts

I'm a huge sports fan! My favorite teams are the Bears, White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks. I play basketball, soccer, and also golf occasionally.

About Me

I will begin my sophomore year at Vanderbilt University in the fall. I am a chemistry major and will pursue some sort of post- undergraduate education, either medical school or graduate school. My career goals are to either earn an M.D. or peform chemistry research in a lab.

Experience

In my high school I volunteered as a math tutor in our schools Math Resource Center. At Vanderbilt I participated in VSVS (Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science). In VSVS we would drive to a middle school in Nashville and teach science lessons to 8th graders. I have loved being able to help other students and am excited to continue this at Frog Tutoring.

Approach

I prefer to help by letting the student guide me. When confronted with a problem I will ask the student for their ideas and explore them. If they get a little stuck I will get them back on track. I believe this cements the fundamentals of a subject and helps students understand the material better. If a student understands why something works and another doesnt they will have greater mastery over the material.
