About Me
I'm a Biological sciences graduate from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga. I've made the Dean and/or President's lists almost every year I was enrolled in college. I also have a concentration in Microbiology, and ultimately plan on getting my PhD. My three big career choices after I finish college are to become a college biology professor, a senior medical laboratory scientist, or work for the Centers for Disease Control. I currently work as a microbiologist for a global food safety laboratory.
Experience
Since I was always really good at math and science I tutored a lot of my friends and their siblings through middle and high school. A major plus is since I was home schooled I was pretty much available all the time to help out, and I really enjoyed it. Now that I'm in college I'm looking to get back into helping kids out with their math and science courses.
Approach
My main philosophy when helping out with a problem is to let the person come to their own conclusions about what the answer might be. My job is to help nudge you in the right direction with encouragement. I also believe learning should be fun, so games and neat worksheets are a major part of how I help people really 'get it'. You really don't learn if you don't like what you're doing.
