Fun Facts
If anyone is interested in K-pop, especially k-hiphop, I can show him/her some good ones. I came from South Korea about 5 years ago (I currently have a green card).
I'm math and science person, but I'm not really boring.
About Me
I am going to be a junior in petroleum engineering major and statistics minor at the University of Texas at Austin in Summer 2016.
Upon graduation, I hope to work for 2 years or so and earn my Masters in statistics. My ultimate goal is to become a versatile engineer.
Experience
I have had many experiences of tutoring my colleagues in high school. Back then, I actually helped my friends further than merely math and science, but this time, I just want to focus on what I am more good at. I also taught Tae Kwon Do (korean traditional martial art) at YMCA in my junior year in high school. Every experience was non-paid.
I am currently tutoring two 3rd grader and one 4th grader privately. I am also tutoring two students with Cal 1 and Cal 2 (college level).
Approach
I came to the United States as a 9th grader, and I didn't really know how to speak English. I was not able to communicate with friends or understand lectures. However, I pushed myself harder than others and managed to take all Pre-AP and AP level courses, starting from sophomore year. It was really hard, of course. Reading 20 pages of a book literally took more than a hour. Nevertheless, I was able to get good GPA, SAT, and AP exam grades and ended up enrolling to UT Austin.

I took this class as a sophomore and got an A.
I helped my peers understand the materials while taking the course after school and tutored people who took this class later.
Calculus Tutoring
I took AP Calculus AB in my senior year and got an A on it. I also got a 5 in Calculus AB exam.
I took Calculus 1,2, and 3 in college, and I particularly did well on 1 and 3 (A and A-).
Chemistry Tutoring
I took Pre-AP Chemistry in my sophomore year and AP Chemistry in my junior year, and I got As on both of them. I also got a 5 on AP Chemistry exam.
Math Tutoring
I took geometry, algebra 1 and 2, pre-calculus, and calculus AB. I got As on all of them.
Math Advance Tutoring
I took all math courses available in high school, including AP level courses except Calculus BC.
Physics Tutoring
I took Pre-AP physics and AP Physics B, and I got As on both of them. I made a 3 on AP Physics B. Last semester in college, I tutored three students with non-engineering physics class at UT Austin (only an expert in mechanics).
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took this class in my 8th grade and got an A on it. I don't really have much to say for this class because it is an entry-level math.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I took Pre-AP Pre calculus in my junior year and got an A on it. Just like other classes, I tutored peers and lower graders before and after school.
SAT Math Tutoring
My highest score for SAT is 750 and got a perfect score on SAT Subject Test (Math 2).
I tutored on student last semester and her grade jumped from 580 to 740.
Statistics Tutoring
I took AP Statistics in my junior year and got an A on it. I got a 4 on AP Statistics exam. Currently, I'm minoring in Statistics.
Algebra Tutoring
I took all high school math and college math for engineering students. Therefore, I am pretty confident with teaching young students because I have a deep understanding of fundamentals of what middle school students will learn in their classes. So I can explain concepts in a way that students can understand easily.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I took all high school math and college math for engineering students. Therefore, I am pretty confident with teaching young students because I have a deep understanding of fundamentals of what middle school students will learn in their classes. So I can explain concepts in a way that students can understand easily.
