Fun Facts
I love tennis and soccer. I've been playing tennis since I was about 5 years old and continued to play at a national level until I graduated from high school. In my sophomore year of high school I tried out for the soccer team and made the varsity squad, and that was the first time that I had ever played on a soccer team. I've loved soccer my whole life, but I had just begun actually playing it when I was 16.
About Me
I am now a sophomore Mechanical Engineering major at Baylor University. I made the Dean's List my freshman year and I'm looking to get it again next semester. I'm not sure what I want to do after I graduate, and I hope to figure it out during my time in college. I was born in Mexico city and moved to San Antonio when I was 12. In San Antonio I attended Saint Mary's Hall for highschool, and I love playing soccer and tennis.
Experience
As a member of project teach at Saint Mary's Hall, I had the opportunity to tutor elementary students with their homework. This helped me gain patience and personal/face-to-face communication skills. I had a blast tutoring these kids and I would love to continue tutoring in the future. Also, as a member of Phi Gamma Delta at Baylor, I'm constantly helping and tutoring other members in their math and science courses.
Approach
Ever since I was a kid, math and science have been clear strengths in school, but my reading and writing skills were extremely poor. But with the help of tutors, I was able to overcome this. Tutoring is something that I've always been interested in because I know there are students who struggle in courses that I am good at, and I believe that many students learn better from other students who have just taken those courses.
