Fun Facts

I love sports, and cycling and tennis are two of my greatest passions! I'm a huge nerd and try to learn as much as I can, any time I can (I drink Snapple just for the the fun facts on the bottle cap). I enjoy traveling and do so whenever I have time, mostly to visit my family in Holland. I just came back from India and can't wait to explore more of the world!

About Me

I am a graduate student at the Center for Global Affairs at NYU, pursuing a degree in transnational security. I recently graduated cum Laude from the State University of New York College at Geneseo. I am an award winning Model United Nations and Model Arab League delegate and policy author. My ultimate goal is to work for the government (international or domestic) as a security policy advisor.

Experience

I worked as a Hebrew reading and writing tutor duringt high school, which allowed me to gain communication and teaching skills. I also worked as a teaching assistant in college for a class focused on globalization and third world development. I loved working with kids to spread my passion for learning. I look forward to helping more students understand and appreciate the gift of knowledge!!

Approach

I am a huge fan of information manipulation and conversion. This means taking notes through a variety of media, creating charts and study sheets, and re-categorizing information for more efficient studying and content absorption. Beginning in high school, I had an overloaded schedule with sports, student government, volunteer work, and honors classes. Instead of letting this overwhelm me, I honed in on study skills, and continued to develop them through college!
