Fun Facts

Something you will learn very quickly about me is that I love to talk! Movies, music, books, current events are usually at the top of my "interesting things to discuss list". I am originally from Queens, NY and moved to Maryland for college but loved it so much I stayed! I love superhero movies, old episodes of "Murder, She Wrote" and "Golden Girls" and all things Beyonce!

About Me

I graduated from maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University with a degree in Mass Communications. I am currently a 6th grade general education teacher in maryland/baltimore">Baltimore, MD. I am also certified in elementary special education for grades 1-6. I will also be attending Johns Hopkins University to obtain my Master's of Science in Educational Studies starting this Fall 2016.

Experience

As a full time educator, I have had plenty of experience working with the youth of maryland/baltimore">Baltimore ranging from elementary to middle school age. I have taught all 4 content areas for 6th grade and math/ELA for elementary special education students. Working for Frog maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">Tutoring allows me the opportunity to continue to help children thrive academically and fight off "summer loss"!

Approach

It is my belief that anyone can learn, but that can only happen when students are able to make connections. I fully take on the challenge each day with my students to make a concept, a strategy or any fact understandable to them by connecting it to something of interest or importance to them. This would be my same approach with any student I maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor. Creating connections so that the information we tell them is important to know starts to feel that way. All I ask in return is for students to try!
