Fun Facts
Although I was raised in Maryland, I was born in Fresno, CA and am a California girl at heart. In my free time, you will find me on the field playing soccer and lacrosse. My other hobbies include running, playing ukulele, singing, dancing, and knitting. I love being around other people, and I think time with friends is time well spent. I am a "people person", and thrive off building friendships and connections with others.
About Me
I am a Mathematics major and Economics minor at the maryland">University of Maryland, maryland/baltimore">Baltimore County (UMBC). I have taken advanced courses including Calculus III, Differential Equations, and Chemistry Lab. In my first three years of studies, I made the Dean's List with honors. After I graduate with my Bachelor's in Mathematics, I plan to proceed to graduate school and earn my Master's in Financial Economics. My ultimate goal is to work for a large scale financial firm before opening my own small-town business.
Experience
Throughout high school, I was involved as the President of National Honor Society. One main role of my position involved organizing groups and maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring students in STEM. Upon entering college, I sought out similar maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring opportunities and quickly became involved in mentoring a robotics club at Patterson Park Charter School in maryland/baltimore">Baltimore. Over the course of four months, my small group of middle schoolers built a robot and competed in various competitions including the Hopkin's Robotics Cup.
Approach
Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my older brother. I was often the person to quiz him on academic material. Watching my brother complete higher level courses helped me gain a better understanding of effective studying and assisted me when I completed similar courses. I feel well-equipped to help others as my brother helped me. I will always bring the optimism, encouragement, and energy necessary in a learning environment. Anyone is capable of learning a subject with the right attitude.
