Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about is my love of animals. While I love all kinds of house pets, I am most fond of cats. I have my own cat named Raffy. He is black and white and weighs 17 lbs! He is two years old, afraid of loud noises, squirrels and vacuum cleaners. Like him, I am an only child too, but I have always wished I had brothers and sisters growing up!
About Me
I am a senior at Emory University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. However, my undergraduate education did not begin there. I enrolled at the miami">University of Miami as a Freshman and transferred to Emory University after 4 semesters. I will graduate this May and go on to attend the maryland">University of Maryland at maryland/college-park">College Park to obtain a Master of Public Policy. My ultimate goal is to work for a public policy think tank in washington-dc">Washington DC.
As a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters I had the opportunity to atlanta">tutor and mentor a local youth in the Miami area. When I transferred, I had the opportunity to work with peer atlanta">tutors at Emory who helped me to adjust socially and academically to my new environment. As I have been on both ends of the atlanta">tutoring spectrum, I understand the importance that a mentor can play in someone's life. Working for Frog atlanta">tutoring gives me the opportunity to impact even more lives of students that need help!
Throughout my academic experience I have found that many students understand more than they realize but lack the necessary confidence to succeed. I also have found, by observing my peers, that many students do not know how to study effectively. As a atlanta">tutor, I attempt to build this self confidence and teach critical study habits that I have slowly learned and developed throughout my middle school, high school, and college experience.
