Fun Facts

I am passionate about many things. However if I had to pick just two, it would be playing my Viola and gardening. I began playing the Viola in the 6th grade and I stopped playing for about ten years. I started back playing a year ago. Someday I hope to have a chair in someone's symphony orchestra. I also love gardening.

About Me

I absolutely love teaching and sharing science with others. Especially my students. I graduated from Valdosta State University where I obtained a BS in Biology and Chemistry. I later obtained my MS in Biology form Alabama A&M University and a doctorate in the Biomedical Sciences form Meharry Medical College. I fell in love with science in the 6th grade and I wanted to become a pathologist. After taking medical ethics in undergrad, I changed my mind and pursed research and teaching instead.

Experience

Currently, I am an assistant professor of Biology. I am also a certified STEM educator with previous experience teaching, physical science, high school chemistry, general middle school science, and all levels and disciplines of biology. I am also an adjunct instructor of microbiology.

Approach

I believe that collaboration is essential to learning in every setting. And that this can be achieved by asking questions and being persistent.My huntsville">tutoring approach varies with each student. I observe each student and work to build a healthy huntsville">tutor-student relationship. I also work to understand their study habits and learning styles.
