Fun Facts
I run a website called newmusicforoldfolks.com. It provides information for Baby Boomers and others about current artists that make music that might appeal top them. Too many people my age have musical tastes based on nostalgia. Also, I have two college aged children who are both excellent students.
About Me
My wife and I recently moved from the suburbs into urban Columbus, Ohio. I have 15 years of experience in newspaper journalism as a writer, editor and page designer. I also have 8 years in education teaching high school social studies and journalism.
Experience
I have a master's degree in journalism and a bachelor's in economics/political science. I also have completed a secondary education certification program and have four years of full-time and four years of substitute teaching experience.
Approach
Every students has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning. The key is to exploit those strengths and overcome the weaknesses. Some are visual learners and some auditory. Some need everything written down step by step. You can't reach every student with the same method. You need to spend time with them and discover how each will best absorb and retain the material.
