Fun Facts
One thing I am passionate about is music. Any free time I have I listen to and learn about any and all different types of music. I also play classical flute. I also love to dance. Prior to entering college I danced for 14 years and still take drop in classes whenever I get the chance.
About Me
I am entering my sophomore year as a music education student at belmont">belmont-university">belmont">Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee. After graduation I plan to enter the workforce for a few years before returning to grad school to pursue a masters in Music History. I would like to end up directing a high school band as well as teaching any other types of music courses.
Experience
In my high school years I had the opportunity to teach flute lessons to middle school students. This opportunity was an equally enriching process for both the students and myself.
Approach
During my elementary and secondary education it was difficult for me to find purpose behind the things being taught. In high school a few teachers from different fields of study helped me to find a purpose and helped me find the life in learning. Having a good attitude and outlook is what makes learning effective and my goal is to help students realize their own purpose in learning.

Music Education
History Tutoring
I have taken several general history courses (world history and two different sections on U.S history) and some music history courses over the course of my own education. I am well versed and very interested in the study of history. Specifically, with a music degree, I know more about music history and can incorporate that knowledge along with general history.
Homework Coach Tutoring
Homework is a very important discipline to develop. As a future educator it is very important to me to motivate students to do their absolute best in every discipline. Being a homework coach is just as important as tutoring any other subject.
Music Theory Tutoring
I have taken an extensive course load in music theory and am well versed on how and what should be taught at the high school level. My past education in music theory has included two courses in high school (one being AP music theory) and three courses (to date) in college.
Writing Tutoring
Writing is a very important skill to learn at an early age. I learned that lesson and continue to harbor the skill every year. It is also a skill that is used throughout every discipline in school especially the farther the student goes in their education. I have a lot of experience writing for a multitude of different subjects and am capable of helping others with this difficult task.
Flute Tutoring
I can teach flute at any level. I have been playing and receiving instruction on this instrument for 11 years and feel confident in my teaching philosophy. Practice makes for better preparation. I look forward to instilling this idea into my students and will share in their success as they continue their studies.
Music History Tutoring
I have taken some music history courses and am confident in my abilities to forward the information I have learned and studied on to others. I am also versed in historical writing that can partner itself with any history course. With my degree, I have to keep an updated knowledge on music history and be able to teach others as well.
