Fun Facts
One passion of mine is the arts- written, visual, and music. Although I myself am not really an artist, art gives me a sense of peace and optimism for what the world has to bring. I am the oldest out of two girls, and have never lived outside of Houston. I love cooking, crocheting, reading, and going to the different museums and parks in the museum district. If I am not studying, I would be doing any of those things.
About Me
I am a junior biology and premed major at the University of St. Thomas. I have been on the Deans List for my entire college career and I plan on becoming a doctor. I hope to be able to work for Doctors Without Borders and open up a free clinic for those who need it the most
Experience
As a member of National Honor Society in high school, I had the opportunity to houston">tutor students on different subjects on a weekly basis. I have also been a volunteer teacher at my church for their Vietnamese Language program and the CCE (religion) program. Upon entering college, I have been eager to continue to helping students by teaching at my church but also through Frog houston">Tutoring.
Approach
As a child, I always took longer to retain the information taught to me at school and apply my understanding well. I was lucky enough to have wonderful teachers who helped me find a way to study that worked for me. As a houston">tutor and teacher, I always bring this forward for my students. I aim to not only teach them the knowledge they need, but also to help them develop learning strategies that will be beneficial for their education

Biology, Pre Med
Biology I Tutoring
As a biology major, I have tutored my underclassmen as well as my peers in biology. This beginning biology class is a subject I am confident I can tutor well.
Biology II Tutoring
A continuation of biology I, biology II is also a topic I am confident to teach. I have always enjoyed learning biology and teaching it as well. Tutoring biology for my peers, I have experience clarifying different biological processes and presenting them in a way that makes it easier for others to understand.
Chemistry I Tutoring
Chemistry is another love of mine. I have tutored my peers in both Chemistry I and Chemistry II. I previously had a hard time understanding certain concepts in chemistry myself, but found ways of clarifying to myself that I have used to help others who also do not understand these concepts.
Chemistry II Tutoring
Chemistry II was a class I enjoyed thoroughly. As a student, I found chemistry difficult to grasp at first, but I was able to connect it to biology, making it easier for me to understand.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
During middle school, I found myself emerged into the wonderful worlds depicted in the various novels and stories I read. I quickly learned how to pick up literary themes, and was quick to understand the main ideas in reading selections of my tests. Reading and writing soon became my hobbies. I would love to share my love of books to my students through helping them achieve a deeper understanding of the materials presented to them through text, and by helping them be able to make inferences while reading.
Homework Coach Tutoring
As a volunteer teacher at my church, I am used to teaching children. And as a student myself, I have found simple was to time manage that would work at any age. As a homework coach, I would be able to not only check homework, but also teach methods to be efficient.
Elementary Math Tutoring
As a logical person, I find the basic arithmetic to be something that comes naturally to me. I am also used to tutoring children in math, as I used to help my younger cousins with their homework
Social Studies Tutoring
Social studies was a class that I grew to love. Learning about different ancient civilizations, history, and geography was something I deeply enjoyed. In high school, I tutored middle school and elementary students at my church in many different fields such as history and social studies.
