Fun Facts

I love to be outdoors, whether its snow or shine, you'll usually find me out hiking, fly fishing, biking, or snowboarding. Traveling is another passion of mine, I hope to visit every continent (including Antarctica) at some point in my life. Before coming to Colorado College, I played hockey every year since age four, but unfortunately I have not found the time to continue this passion in college. I'm an easy going guy with a lot of patience, so don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.

About Me

I am a junior Physics major and Math minor at Colorado College. I have an Overall GPA of a 3.6 and a Major GPA of a 3.7. When I graduate I plan to do research on electromagnetic theory, as well as, ocean and wave energy before attending graduate school. My goal is to work with renewable energy and eventually go back to school to become a professor of physics.

Experience

Currently I am working on three research projects studying high pressure physics, solid state physics, and material science. Last summer I did an internship working with applied statistics and risk analysis for commodities trading. I have taken upper level math and physics classes at Colorado College.

Approach

I feel that everyone learns in their own way, some may learn visually, some may learn best through listening, and some people just learn best on their own. As a springs">tutor I will attempt to explain mathematical and physical concepts in a way that suits your learning style. I find it extremely important to include visuals such as drawings, graphs, and figures to help conceptualize what the numbers and symbols actually mean in the real world.

Advance Statistics Tutoring

I took AP statistics in high school and received an A in the class. Last summer (2015) I interned with Wilton Agricultural Strategies and used applied statistics to do risk analysis for commodities trading. This year I took Techniques of Experimental Physics where we designed our own experiments and did statistical analysis to analyze data. This summer I am working on three different physics research experiments, each of which I must collect and analyze data with statistics.

As a tutor I will use visuals and drawings to help understand the material.

Physics Advance Tutoring

As a physics major at Colorado College I have taken many upper level physics classes and I feel I am well suited to tutor a student in a wide variety of fields within physics. My major GPA is currently a 3.7/4. My strongest interests are in electronics and electromagnetic theory. As a tutor I will use visuals and drawing to help explain the material from this class.

Physics I Tutoring

As a physics major at Colorado College I have taken many upper level physics classes and I feel I am well suited to tutor a student in a wide variety of fields within physics. My major GPA is currently a 3.7/4, and in Physics I, I received an A. As a tutor I will use visuals and drawing to really help understand the concepts well.

Physics II Tutoring

As a physics major at Colorado College I have taken many upper level physics classes and I feel I am well suited to tutor a student in a wide variety of fields within physics. My major GPA is currently a 3.7/4. Physics II begins to introduce concepts from electromagnetic theory which is currently my specific field of interest. This summer (2016) I am working in three different labs on experiments dealing with electromagnetic waves. As a tutor I will use visuals and drawings to help conceptualize the concepts learned in this class.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

Calculus is one of my best subjects and I feel that Pre Calculus is a strong base that is needed to move onto Calculus I, II, III, and above. As a tutor I will help teach the material with visuals and drawings to show why the material is important.

Trigonometry Tutoring

Trigonometry is very important in the field of Physics and in order to conceptualize various concepts and calculations. As a Physics major and Math minor at Colorado College, I use trigonometry regularly to draw diagrams, complete calculations, and most of all I use trigonometry to explain how waves move. As a tutor I will help explain concepts by using simple diagrams and drawings.

Algebra Tutoring

I use algebra to solve almost ever problem I work with in physics. As a tutor, I will be able to work with students step by step to assure they understand how to simply solve Algebra problems and actually understand the material well before moving on.

Algebra II Tutoring

I use algebra to solve almost ever problem I work with in physics. As a tutor, I will be able to work with students step by step to assure they understand how to simply solve Algebra problems and actually understand the material well before moving on.

AP Physics Tutoring

As a physics major at Colorado College I have taken many upper level physics classes and I feel I am well suited to tutor students in a wide variety of fields within physics. My major GPA is currently a 3.7/4. As a tutor I will use visuals and drawing to help explain the material from this class
