Fun Facts

Although American born, I have spent much of my life abroad: studying, living and working. My daughter had 5 languages before she was 5! Anybody can learn a language with gentle and supportive coaching.
My passion for dogs extends to rescue and painting pet portraits to support local APL, Kennel, Greyhound and Horse Rescues. I live with two dogs who have rescued me: a border collie and a greyhound.

About Me

As a lifelong learner, I love teaching. In addition to my degrees, I earned a Certificate in Art Therapy. At a local hospital I completed training to be a NICU Infant Comforter.

Experience

My education is a treasure: B.A., M.A. and two Ph.D programs. However, content must marry skill in experience. My years as a linguist and a cultural broker, position me uniquely to facilitate learning language in an applied fashion.
Language is so much more than conjugated verbs: in the military, in law and as an international flight attendant, I had many opportunities to hone my craft.

Approach

My pedagogical approach incorporates accelerative learning and psychological impact, multiple intelligences and emotional quotient. Although the teacher/cleveland">tutor facilitates the process, students must be responsible for their own learning. Although errors are a part of the journey, excellence continues to be the destination.
