Fun Facts
I have been working with children since I was in high school (6 years ago). I was interested in learning Early Childhood education at first, then became interested in Art Education throughout my college education at Florida International University. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy working with children from various age groups.
About Me
I am a senior at Florida International University, Majoring in Art, with Minors in Education, Art History, and Psychology. During my time in the College of Education I have worked with Elementary, Middle, and High School students in various classroom settings. After I graduate I will be working towards Professional Certification to be an Art Educator for k-12 grade levels. Within the next 5 to 10 years I will be pursuing a Masters in Art Therapy.
Experience
I was CDA certified in high school and within the past two years I have passed the General Knowledge Exam, Professional Education Exam, and the Subject Area in Art Exam. I have done many hours of field experience through the College of Education at FIU. And currently, I am a part-time substitute teacher at Kendall Christian School.
Approach
During my experience working with students and educators I have adopted the philosophy that so long as the student is willing to learn and the teacher provides the necessary tools for success, students will reach their goals, and may even surpass their own expectations.

Art
Arts Tutoring
Throughout College I have taken art courses in Drawing, Figure Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, 2D Design, 3D Design, and Printmaking. I have gotten A's and B's in all these courses and am very knowledgeable of a variety of techniques and approaches to making art. In addition to these courses, I have taken Art Education methodology courses and have taught Art lessons to Elementary, Middle, and High School classes.
Education Tutoring
I am working towards receiving a minor in Education. I have taken many courses in addition to the requirements for a minor and am very passionate about teaching.
Homework Coach Tutoring
Throughout high school and college I have helped friends and peers to complete homework assignments and organize their agendas.
Religion Tutoring
In high school I took a religion course and in college I took Myth, Mysticism, and Ritualism. I am interested in various religions and could help students take notes.
English Tutoring
Passed the General Knowledge Exam Subtest 1: Essay and Subtest 2: English Language Skills (ELS)
Elementary Math Tutoring
Passed the General Knowledge Exam Subtest 4: Mathematics.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Passed the General Knowledge Exam Subtest 3: Reading.
Study Skills Tutoring
As part of FIU, we are required to take an introductory course that gave study tips and helpful resources. I could teach students how to organize their work and help them complete homework assignments.
Writing Tutoring
Passed the General Knowledge Exam Subtest 1: Essay.
FCAT Tutoring
During field experience hours I tutored elementary students in math and reading.
