I also love watching YouTube videos centered on beauty, hair, and music from 50s-90s. I have always admired the looks and the energy that artists displayed in their music during these eras. About Me

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree at Georgia State University. Prior to that, I earned Associate and Bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice. I was on the Dean's List in 2010 and 2011. I am also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society. After earning my Social Work degree, I plan to earn a Master of Social Work and pursue nonprofit certification. My goal is to open a nonprofit agency for at risk youth & young adults

Experience

As a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, I tutored second graders at a local elementary school. After this experience, I became interested in working with youth. So, in my final semester of college, I interned at a nonprofit program that helps at at-risk youth and young adults reenter the community. Through my work, I built healthy & supportive relationships with program participants while also helping them reach their full potential academically, socially, & professionally.

Approach

I want students to enjoy learning and ultimately be confident in their work. As a mentor and tutor, I want to build positive relationships with students to feel comfortable to ask me questions and to create great communication. My approach to tutoring will be adjusted according to students learning styles and their strengths and weaknesses.

History was a major component of my studies in both Criminal Justice, Sociology, and African American Studies.
