About Me

I am a freshman Severe education/massachusetts/boston">Special Education major at boston-university">Boston University. I hope to one day go to Teacher's College of maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">columbia-university">maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">Columbia University for my masters in education/massachusetts/boston">Special Education and School Counseling. My ultimate goal is to open my own therapeutic riding center, where I can offer horseback riding lessons to children and adults with physical, emotional, and mental challenges.

As a member of the National Honors Society in high school, I was able to boston">tutor younger class-men once a week. I helped students with study techniques, homework help, test prep, and in other major subject areas. Upon entering college, I have completed over 100 hours of pre-practicum observation in elementary schools, and as part of this I would boston">tutor students during the school day.

I learned at a young age that organization and preparation is the key to success in school, and I hope to impart that to the students I boston">tutor. I believe in making the student's needs a priority, and giving them the tools they need to tackle problems with homework, studying, test taking, and projects in the future. I also believe that the right kind of positive encouragement can mean the difference between a student reaching their full potential and struggling to get there, and use positive reinforcement to bolster the student's confidence in school.
