Fun Facts
The first thing you will notice about me is that I am really tall! 6'4". But don't let that intimidate you! I am really kind, patient, and helpful person. As you may have guessed from my height, I am a lover of all sports! My favorites are, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and ping pong! I am also passionate about academia, playing the acoustic guitar, and teaching.
About Me
I graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Public Health from the University of Arizona in May of 2019. For about a year, I facilitated and taught non-violence group classes for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. I would like to become a licensed counselor one day.
Experience
I was a teaching assistant for MATH 100, an online Algebra course at the University of Arizona. I taught lessons to classes of 20 students, graded homework, and held office hours where I helped students in person with specific math problems. I also have experience as a private tutor. I taught spelling, math, astronomy, botonony, literature, and P.E. to children ages 8-11. One of the kids I taught had Autism, so I have some experience in teaching kids with special
Approach
Many people think that students do not excel in school because of laziness, but I think that a lot of students struggle because of lack of confidence in themselves and fear of failure. My philosophy in tutoring is to try my best to instill confidence in my students by helping them believe in themselves and understand that mistakes are a part of the learning process and should be embraced. Once students understand this, they can begin learning on a whole different level.
