Fun Facts

I love to travel abroad. I've been to Europe twice and want to back to visit Italy, Greece and Rome.
My dog's name is Betty. She is thirteen years old but looks and acts like a puppy !
I love to study foreign languages.Spanish is my native language and I am fully fluent. Right now I'm studying French. I was able to speak French in France when I visited Paris. I was proud of the fact that I was able to communicate with the people there.

About Me

I am a California Credentialed Elementary School teacher. I retired from full time teaching in 2010. Now I do private tutoring and sometimes work as a substitute teacher.
I enjoy tutoring one on one very much. I fully focus on my student's needs and teach them exactly what they need to learn.

Experience

I have been an educator for over 30 years. I love to teach Reading and Writing especially because I am certified in those subjects.
I have taught children as young as 3.5 years old to read and write English.
I can also do the same in Spanish because I am fully bilingual in Spanish.

Approach

My approach to teaching is determined by the student's needs and I develop the curriculum to include the Whole Child. I have a very good sense about how I should approach the student emotionally and it takes just about 10 minutes to "figure out " the child. From there I adapt the curriculum to best fit the student.
