About Me
I am working on my fifteenth year teaching in Georgia public schools. I have taught every age of student from children all the way to senior citizens and love the learning process at every turn. I studied at Oxford University in England for a year and have tried to maintain that same discipline I learned in that year throughout my entire academic career as both a student and a teacher.
I have worked for several atlanta">tutoring academies over the course of my career and have learned all sorts of psychologies and theories behind what makes a good one-on-one atlanta">tutoring experience. Most of my approach is to make my rapport with my students very individualized, to maximize trust, but always to work in an extremely serious manner. My approach could be reduced to two words: rigor and laughter.
My best experiences atlanta">tutoring always came from a time when I could stand in my student's shoes and see what they were seeing (and missing). I believe that I am pretty good at knowing how to make someone feel confident to ask a question and comfortable to take constructive criticism. I also believe excuses of any kind result in a mountain of nothing.
