Fun Facts

People never believe me when I tell them I played The Grinch Who Stole Christmas in my school's spring musical production, Seussical. I enjoy playing and watching most sports, especially football and basketball. I have three sisters, two younger than me and one older. My favorite color is purple, which may have something to do with the school I attend... Most importantly, I love trying new things and meeting new people!

About Me

I am a freshman Chancellor's Scholar majoring in Biology and Chemistry at Texas Christian University. Currently, I plan to attend medical school after graduation and become a physician.

Experience

As a junior and senior in high school, I was a tutor in my school's writing center. My forte when it comes to teaching is math. I have worked at Mathnasium from May 2015 to August 2016 and developed my skills teaching subjects ranging from numerical fluency to calculus. Outside of this, I have had experiencing mentoring 3rd graders at my K-12 school and caring for special-needs children at a Saturday Respite Care program. Teaching and working with kids have always been my two biggest passions!

Approach

I have had plenty of great teachers, all of whose methods I have learned to emulate in my own approach. My greatest ability is to adapt to whatever works best for each specific student. One of my main goals in a session is to make my students confident in their ability to complete the work on their own. This requires that we fully master each topic before moving on to the next one. At the same time, I like to be efficient enough that there is a minimal amount to work on after the session.
