Fun Facts
A long time comic book reader and New York Mets fan, I have turned my passion for pop culture into a career as a writer, editor, and teacher. I am well-versed with movies, television, and books, avidly discussing them when I appear at conventions. While I love baseball, I cannot throw a ball to safe my life and my fantasy league baseball team struggles year after year.
About Me
I have spent the majority of my life working in publishing until a few years ago when I went back to get my Master's degree in Education. Since then, I have student taught and completed three years as a high school English teacher. In fall 2016, I will be completing my second master's dfegree: Creative Writing and Literature for Educators at dickinson-university">Fairleigh Dickinson University. Experience
As a teacher, I spent hours four days a week, working with students after school on their assignments, to the point where students I did not teach, also came to me for help. Additionally, I have done online maryland/maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">columbia">tutoring for the daughters of an old high school friend, which has been a rewarding experience.
Approach
I tailor each session based on the needs of the student, spending as much time discussing the work and the approach as doing the work. It's vital the student understands and "gets" the task before moving on. Breaking the work into component parts with review and revision emphasized, students quickly master the material with confidence.
