Fun Facts
I've cuddled a koala & kangaroos, I've climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and I've climbed 1,700 steps up the Eiffel Tower! I love to travel & I have experienced 3 countries, living in Australia for 5 months. You can almost always find me with a book in hand or cooking a new recipe! I love to immerse myself in a new custom or tradition of a culture/country.
About Me
I am a recent graduate from the maryland">University of Maryland-maryland/college-park">College Park. I earned my degree in Hearing & Speech Sciences (speech pathology & audiology) and a minor in Spanish. I spent my entire undergraduate career on the Dean's List and I hope to continue my academic success at a Maryland graduate school for Speech Pathology.
Experience
During my college summers I tutored the children that I would nanny in a variety of elementary subjects. Then during my college semesters, I would peer mentor other girls in my degree. I spent a semester as a Teaching Assistant in an introductory course to Linguistics including topics such as anatomy & physiology of the brain, mouth, ears, and throat, and neurological and developmental disorders.
Approach
Kindness and consistency are two key concepts in my approach. I aim to always be kind, positive, encouraging, and approachable. Structure is important to facilitate an effective and successful learning environment. I set goals for learning the material and teach skills for accessing the material during independent times (i.e. testing/when a parent/maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor/teacher is not around).

Hearing & Speech Sciences
Spanish I Tutoring
I minored in Spanish in college and took up to the high 300 level classes (8 in total). I earned A's in each class and have more than enough experience speaking and learning the language to tutor an introductory level course. I have a native speaking Grandmother who I use Spanish with on a frequent basis.
Writing Tutoring
I have taken and earned a 100% in both of my college writing classes, introductory and professional. I also took a more subjective writing class that reviewed literature from all over the world. I went to writing workshops throughout my college career and edited many peer papers.
Psychology Tutoring
I took AP psychology in high school as well as taking psychology in college. I have a strong base of the most typical and unique knowledge due to my major studies. My major in speech pathology required numerous anatomy & physiology classes as well as neuro-based courses.
English Tutoring
I have taken and earned a 100% in both of my college writing classes, introductory and professional. I excel with vocabulary (especially the vocab books used in middle/high school). I went to writing workshops throughout my college career and edited many peer papers.I am huge with grammar and regularly get phone calls from my own family asking for help.
Homework Coach Tutoring
As a Teaching Assistant in a college course, I have experience motivating students to complete their assignments. I've worked with middle-school aged children to finish homework promptly.
