Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that love to dance. Any sort of musical movement - dancing, singing, playing - makes me really happy and I just can't help myself sometimes. I also love tennis, and actually used to teach it. I have a younger brother who's still 9 years old me even though he's 6 feet tall now. I was burn in India, grew up in America, and hopefully I can travel the world someday.
About Me
I am a senior Chemistry major and Biology minor at UMKC, and I'll be graduating in December. When I graduate, I'm going to take a gap year, work at a hospital, and apply to medical school. My ultimate goal is to become a physician that can travel and help teach medical practice to places that lack adequate health care.
Experience
Throughout high school, I worked as a teacher's assistant to tutor those that need help in those classes. When I wasn't in the assistant position, I tutored through our school's National Honors Society. Also, I used to work as a tennis instructor for a tennis academy and got to learn more teaching techniques. In college, I got the opportunity to teach elementary students about basic biology and other general subjects to promote going to college, especially for young girls.
Approach
I learned early on that I didn't learn the same way as everyone else; it didn't work for me. I could never just remember stuff, so I had to ask my teachers, parents, and friends, combine their interpretations on a subject, and deduce how that translated to me. As a tutor, whether that be academic or athletic, I can appreciate that students that don't understand material are not always being rebellious or difficult; rather, they just need a different way to understand it.

Algebra Tutoring
Math has always been a good subject for me as a student, and I have been able to translate that understanding to student before when I tutored grades 7-10 in high school. I took most of the advanced math classes in high school receiving A's and a B, including the Calculus BC AP exam where I scored 4. On the ACT I scored a 34 in the math section as well, which consists mostly of algebra and algebra 2. I think I have the knowledge and ability to help a student feel confident too.
English Tutoring
I was in honors English level classes throughout high school, and received 'A' grades in all the general college English classes. On the ACT, my English score was the highest; I received - 35. In high school I was part of a selected middle school student-teacher group that went and taught parts of the classes. I believe I have the knowledge and skills to help a student feel confident in the subject.
