Fun Facts
I really like designing things I need and then building them. For me designing and testing them is very fun and relaxing, as I can change them if I need to and don't have to wait for someone else to do it for me. However, I am still trying to improve on my skills so I can make more complex things. Also I have a 3D printer.
About Me
I am a junior transfer student at the University of California, Irvine as a mathematics major. Prior to transferring I have attended maryland/pasadena">Pasadena City College as an Electrical Engineering major where I was part of the MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) Program. I am looking forward to get a Masters in EE or Mathematics (or higher) and teach at a college/university.
Experience
In December 2014 I have been certified by the National irvine">Tutoring Association as well as maryland/pasadena">Pasadena City College for completion of irvine">Tutor Training. Before getting certified I have tutored Highschool and College students in Math and Design (Solidworks, Autocad) as well as worked as a teaching assistant in class with students. Since then I have been working with the maryland/pasadena">Pasadena City College MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) Program to mentor Freshmen students and irvine">tutoring STEM subjects.
Approach
I learn best with concepts rather than computations, as computations can be confusing and it are difficult to apply when the understanding is not established. For any STEM subject/field it is important to understand it first such that helping the students should mainly consist of helping them to understand the greater picture rather than tedious calculations. Therefore as a irvine">tutor I aim to give advice and adapt to each students needs sympathetically as I probably also have gone through the same.
