Fun Facts
BOOKS! I am a reader at heart, I look for metaphors inside trees, I search for stories in the sky, I am a book enthusiast. I love to put my toes in the sand, play piano, touch the snow, solve sudoku puzzles, and learn new languages.
Currently, I teach ESL and Citizenship classes to adults in the afternoon. And when I am not teaching a class, I am a soccer coach for girl's U10 in the Hanford Youth Soccer League.
About Me
I am a fourth-year Mathematics major with a minor in Spanish at fresno-state-university">Fresno State University. I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and involved in the Mathematic department by participating the club and math-related activities. I am undecided on the Graduate Program I plan to partake when I graduate from Fresno State. My ultimate goal is to feed young minds; whether that be teaching at high school level or college level.
Experience
In the beginning of high school, I translated Child Development classes for a current DayCare Provider who was taking classes at West Hills College. Towards the end of my high school experience, I tutored AVID students and helped them with homework techniques. In that same year, I tutored an eighth-grader in Algebra and raised his grade from an F to a high A. I truly enjoy teaching students of all levels, and hope to do that for as long as I live.
Approach
As a fresno">tutor, I hand-draw pictures for visual learners, repeat phrases and words for auditory learners, and take frequent breaks by stretching for kinesthetic learners. I will always have a smile while teaching, applaud the students for excelling, and reward them when accomplishing their learning goals. I don't believe in a dumb question, there is no such thing. Every question is welcomed and will be answered to the best of my ability.
