Fun Facts

I love barefoot running. In fact, getting rid of my running shoes was one of the best decisions I made in my life. It brought fun back to my daily runs, for I had been suffering from recurring injuries before going bare. Running barefoot allows me to ground my body while getting maximum proprioceptive feedback. I would recommend it to everyone. You can always contact me for a trial run. I should also add that I have met some great people who share my passion.

About Me

Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Philsophy at the New School for Social Research. My area of specialization is Phenomenology. I love teaching, and meeting people from diverse backgrounds in the process.

Experience

I worked as a speech writer and advanced writing tutor/instructor at the European Parliament and the European Commission in Brussels for over nine years. I also taught BA-level Philosophy courses at K.U. Leuven, Belgium. Moreover, I have extensive experience teaching English as a foreign language at all levels, and for all skills, i.e., speaking, writing, reading and listening comprehension.

Approach

I think a good tutor should listen to the client well and remain sensitive to his/her needs, which can evolve during the process. As such, the tutor should maintain a flexible approach, which is as dynamic and interactive as possible. At the same time, there should be a guiding structure with a clear objective(s), which is decided upon together with the client. The client should be given the chance to gauge his/her progress, and ideally, have a sense of accomplishment at the end of each session.
