Fun Facts
I am proud to say that I have never been in a Harry Potter trivia contest that I couldn't win. I have made it a tradition to read at least fifty book a year. I was recently published in the Bakersfield Californian and have an upcoming publication in a student journal. In conclusion, I am a huge fanatic of extra buttery movie theater popcorn!
About Me
I am a history major at UCLA. After my undergraduate studies, I will pursue a dual title PhD in History and African American studies at Yale University. I aspire to become a history professor at a top tier research university. This past summer I was accepted into two nationally competitive research programs at Penn State and the University of Michigan. My experience there allowed me to grow as a scholar and future academic.
Experience
As a former Supplemental Instructor at Bakersfield College, I am excited to continue my research experience with Frog Tutoring. During my time as an SI, I worked with students individually and in a study group environment. My responsibilities included communicating and developing a variety of methods that will allow students to successfully retain important information.I also created a variety of writing workshops addressing crucial aspects of a paper such as the formidable thesis
Approach
I have always believed that learning should be an exciting experience. I like take a fun and interactive approach to teaching by creating a relaxed environment, implementing games, and utilizing traditional positive reinforcement. I believe that the greatest gift I can give my future students is a passion for learning.

History Tutoring
I was recently a history Supplemental Instructor at Bakersfield College where I helped a diverse range of students with research papers and History courses. Every year the History department at BC chooses one student to recieve the departemental award and I was nominated during both the years i attended this institution. I was also admitted into two competitive research programs where I shared my research with academics
Study Skills Tutoring
During my time as a supplemental instructor, I was responsible with teaching students necessary study skills. I was also tasked with mentoring new SI leaders and teach them how to pass these skills on to their students. I have also successfully maintained a high GPA by implementing these very same study skills.
Writing Tutoring
Among my duties as a Supplemental Instructor, I helped students with their research papers. I created a variety of writing workshops addressing crucial aspects of a paper such as the formidable thesis. I also scheduled library tours to familiarize my students with the research process. I recently wrote a piece for the Bakersfield Californian, and I have upcoming publication in the student journal, The Roughneck Review.
