Fun Facts
One passion people might not know I have is that I am a huge comic-book fan. I've enjoyed comics and graphic novels for some years now, and I absolutely love both Marvel and DC (yes, you can like both). I am the oldest of three children- my family and I like to refer to ourselves as the "perfect generational math equation": my dad was 1 of 9 children, my mother was 1 of 6, and I am 1 of 3. (9-6=3!!). I have never been outside of the country before, and I once met Ellen Degeneres in a restaurant.
About Me
I'm involved in many campus organizations, my favorite being the student film organization, which I serve as a board member and the casting director. I am a senior student at the chicago">University of Chicago. I am pursuing a B.A. in English Language and Literature, with a minor in science/illinois/chicago">Computer Science. My concentration and most of my past internships have been in Marketing, Communications, and Business Development, which I hope to pursue further after graduation.
Experience
During both my senior year of high school and my first year away at university, I had the opportunity to work as a student advisor for a budding new mentoring program for scholarship recipients in my hometown. This experience was a great opportunity for me to contribute to a markedly beneficial student program, as well as acquire the experience necessary to serve as an effective mentor and tutor, which I hope to continue doing through FrogTutoring.
Approach
Though my time as a student has mostly been smooth sailing, every now and then I did encounter an obstacle in my ability to grasp certain subjects. My best memories of overcoming these obstacles stem from tutors who were incredibly patient and understanding to my situation, and guided me through these issues. Subsequently, rather than rushing through material, I have always felt compelled to be just as patient and dedicated to ensuring that students feel confident in their grasp of the material.
