About Me
I have grown up all my life in Memphis, TN and I have tremendous pride and love for my city. I am currently enrolled at Stanford University and plan to get a job in writing or publishing upon graduation. I can see myself being a lifelong Memphian and I support all efforts to improve this wonderful city of ours.
I voluntarily give ACT/SAT prep for underprivileged Memphis City School students. I have also taught kids at the Kumon Math and Reading Center in Southeast Memphis, so I have experience tutoring kids in this area. I can relate very well to students around this area, and that helps the students to take away more knowledge from our tutoring sessions.
When tutoring, I like to relate concepts and subjects to real life experience or everyday scenarios. Putting practical applications behind ideas and topics allows students to understand the ideas and topics beyond what is taught in a classroom. My tutoring environment is a no-pressure environment because that allows students to fully understand and even enjoy the subjects they are learning while high-pressure environments like classrooms often turn students away from caring about subjects and doing well in them. I am very flexible and can adapt my tutoring style to any student; all students are unique and deserve a tailored tutoring approach. Please feel free to talk to me about any concerns or comments you have; I am here to help you and the student succeed and attain a higher level of understanding. In addition, I will provide all materials at all tutoring sessions.
