Fun Facts
People might mistake me for a nerd, - I love math, video games and sticking my head in front of a book - though to some degree its true, what they don't know is that I'm actually an extroverted guy. I like going places and meet new people, I say hello to people I've met, even just barely. I like playing chess or basketball with others. Also I'm the eldest of 3 and I've lived the first 14 years of my life in the Philippines. I speak 3 languages: English, Filipino, and Spanish.
About Me
I'm a freshman science/tennessee/memphis">Computer Science and Mathematics major at Christian Brothers University. I graduated from Bartlett High School with more than a 4.0 cumulative GPA due to the AP and honors courses I took and I was on the top 10% of my class. After graduating from college I hope to get a Masters relating to my current majors. Afterwards my ultimate goal is world domination, otherwise I want to be a developer in a renowned software company or video game studio.
Experience
During High School I was a member of the National Honors Society, Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta. All of which are prestigious organizations in school. I tutored many students for these organizations. I was the president of Mu Alpha Theta, a National Math Honor Organization, during my senior year so I had many opportunities to help my fellow peers in math. Also, I currently tutor at Math Center at Christian Brothers University.
Approach
In learning, I believe that fundamentals are a NECESSITY. I've noticed that holes and gaps in one's foundation in any subject makes a student confused and intimidated to learn new stuff and they tend to just remember and not understand. Especially in math where all the concepts are connected. Solving problems analytically and intuitively is key. Having a good foundation will make math easy to learn and fun. My philosophy is simple: Don't just give a man food, teach him how to grow it.
