I enjoy reading classic English literature and I have a love for baking. Also, I love spending time with my two dogs (Ken and Padme). One of my favorite hobbies is to go on nature walks with my family.

About Me

I am about to enter my final year in college. I love education and working with children. I have been on the Dean's List 4 semesters in a row with two semesters at a 4.0 GPA. My goals are to graduate on May 2014 and move on to my career as a teacher. I hope to get my Master's in Library Science at a later time.

Currently, I do reading tutoring through my UMKC literacy methods classes at the Kansas City, Kansas School District. I tutor students who are below grade reading level. I have been working with these students for 2 semesters.

My tutoring approach is to help students find a way for the content to make sense to them. I focus on complete grasp of the concept and authentic learning. I use technology and different books that give students real world connections to school work and facilitate an meaningful connection to concepts.
