Fun Facts

I was born in the States and raised up in Taiwan. As a result, I am able to speak both English and Chinese (both traditional and simplified) proficiently. I has been interested in dancing since high school so I joined a dance team after getting into college. We competed in local competitions and performed in events. It was not only a hobby but also a learning experience for balancing between academia and extracurricular activities.

About Me

I am a junior in University of Southern California majoring in Psychology. I am a member of the Honor Society Alpha Lambda Delta and I was on Dean's list for 3 semesters. I intend to pursue a career in advertising or marketing using my psychology background. I aim to tutor materials in the most comprehensible way and I take pride in seeing students achieve their academic goal, whether it be understanding the subjects or getting good grades.

Experience

I was a Teaching Assistant for mathematics and Chinese in middle school; and for pre-calculus in high school. In addition, growing up with both parents working, I needed to tutor my younger sister to ensure she is on top of her homework and tests from elementary school to high school. Moreover, I provided college application counseling to the rising seniors from my high school by sharing my own experience of applying college and helping them to cultivate critical thinking skills.

Approach

I used to think there is only one way of learning, memorization. However, as I started to TA for some subjects, I realized different people, with different traits and habits, need different studying methods. I attempt to customize studying method that suits each individual the best. I don't want the students to learn just the knowledge but a versatile skill they can use for a long term.
