Fun Facts
A big fascination of mine is coffee, any kind, especially from different places. I've tried coffee from Mexico, Germany, London and from different states in the United States, I've even tried coffee with chile.
About Me
I am a junior Sociology and pre law major at the University of New Mexico. I've made Dean's list for a consecutive year. I will be applying for Law School this spring semester hoping to attend the Law school of New Mexico. My goal is to become a lawyer for the undocumented community.
Experience
I have been involved in many things at the University of New Mexico, some of them being; Phi Sigma Pi honor society member, Lambda Theta Alpha sister, Trailblazer, and I was a seated senator for one year. I’ve been a mentor for two summers at UNM, one being with upcoming freshmen, helping find scholarships and also with middle school children and High school students.
Approach
I'm a very different learner, I learn by writing down things and by visualizing the problems at hand. I come from a low-income family and learned the need for a mentor that can show me the ways to get into college. From this I strive to be the same mentor as the one I searched for, I’m devoted to my students and will work hard to get them where they need to be in their academics.

Sociology/ Pre law
Sociology Tutoring
Sociology 101 (B), Sociology 213 (A), Soc 371 (C), Sociology 312 (A-). Currently taking Sociology 380 and 424, this relates to my major as I implement this in my research. This subject is a big love of mine and therefore I take it very seriously within my education.
Spanish I Tutoring
I am fluent in Spanish, as well it was my first language. My minor is Spanish and I have taken higher levels within grammar and speech of Spanish.
Writing Tutoring
Both of my english classes I received great grades, and have constantly been writing within my sociology major. This major makes me become more fluent within my language and learning to use higher grammar.
AP History Tutoring
I took AP History in high school, as well took the AP exam and received a great score. This subject is easy to understand and to teach as I use different ways to remember dates and times within history.
Religion Tutoring
I took religions at UNM and I received an A. This is something i would enjoy teaching someone as we learned the living world religions and the ones that disappeared over the years.
Spanish II Tutoring
Spanish level two would also be something i can teach well as I have taken Spanish 301, 302, 307 and 341.
Spanish III Tutoring
Spanish level three I would teach by question and answer with the student, and giving them literature they could read to expand their vocabulary.
English Tutoring
Middle school english level would be something I teach by drafting and teaching the student how to form a sentence and form an essay well enough to a high school standard.
Spanish Tutoring
This level of Spanish would be much simpler with the student and teaching them the difference between Spanish and English and how to pronounce words.
