Fun Facts
One of my greatest accomplishments was earning my black belt in tae kwon do. I started training in elementary school and continued all through high school. During this time, I also played the piano. Aside from music and tae kwon do, I also love to read and travel. My goal is to visit each continent at least once in my lifetime!
About Me
I am currently a junior majoring in International Political Economy with a minor in Spanish at Fordham University. I'm a Fordham Founder's Scholar recipient and have made Dean's List the last two years with a GPA of 3.7. After graduation, I hope to work for a year before applying to law school.
Experience
I tutored students my entire high school career in all subjects. I have helped elementary and middle school students prepare for their state examinations (in New Jersey), as all as assisted high school students with their testing strategies. Since coming to Fordham University, I have been volunteering at Rosedale Center, which provides mentoring and tutoring services for girls of all ages in all subjects.
Approach
I have found that connecting the subject matter to real-world situations allows for better retention and understanding of it. After I explain the material and help with particular problems, I will often ask the student to re-explain the content just reviewed in order to gauge his or her understanding. At that point, I can adjust the learning method for the most effective study skills and habits. Rather than simply giving the answer, I encourage, teach, and guide the student to reach a solution.

International Political Economy
Algebra Tutoring
I am qualified to tutor in mathematics because I have previously studied and tutored the subject. I have taken advanced math courses all throughout high school, beginning with Algebra II in ninth grade. I have taken and scored well in AP Calculus AB, the ACT math section, and SAT Mathematics Level 1 and 2. I have been able to use my scores to receive credit in college, which has left me available to take Statistical Decision Making courses.

I am qualified to tutor in mathematics because I have previously studied and tutored the subject. I have taken advanced math courses all throughout high school, beginning with Algebra II in ninth grade. I have taken and scored well in AP Calculus AB, the ACT math section, and SAT Mathematics Level 1 and 2. I have been able to use my scores to receive credit in college, which has left me available to take Statistical Decision Making courses.

Economics is essential to my major of International Political Economy. I have taken AP Microeconomics as well as AP Macroeconomics in high school and received a score of 5 in both exams. I have taken many classes at Fordham that use economics as their foundation, for example Macroeconomic Analysis and Economics of Latin America, and done very well.
English Tutoring
I have taken an English course nearly every year. In high school, I was in the International Baccalaureate Literature class. I continued to take literature courses that focused in reading novels and poems, as well as improving our writing skills. I have experience in tutoring students in English to help them better understand the material being studied.
Homework Coach Tutoring
As a tutor, I take the liberty to ensure that the student has positive encouragement while doing his or her homework. While volunteering at the local mentor and tutoring center, I have gained experience in working with students to achieve overall academic success. By sharing personal study skills with students, I look to improve their organization and time management habits.

During my senior year in high school, I had in internship with a clinical psychologist where I was able to put my studies into practice. In addition, I have also taken a Human Psychology at Fordham where I received an A in the course.

In high school, I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Spanish course, which focuses not only on grammatical and writing components of the subject, but also different types of hispanic literature. As a Spanish minor, I continue to take a many Spanish courses such as Approaches to Spanish Literature and New York in Latino Film and Literature.
