Math Tutoring

I received a 28 on my ACT math exam. I tested out of my first year math requirement in college. I was in honors math in middle school and was doing algebra in 8th grade rather than 10th grade.

Homework Coach Tutoring

Part of my volunteer work in highschool was helping ESL students with their homework. So I tutored these kids despite sometimes having a language barrier. I also volunteered with Cafe con Ingles where I help ESL Adults do their English language learning assignments. I'm great with time management and study strategies so I'd be a great homework coach.

Government Tutoring

I took American Government and U.S. History in High School and received A's. I've passed the constitution test with a B or better both times I've taken it. I also have taken policy courses in college that help explain the framework behind government.

GED Tutoring

I almost had to drop out and get my GED due to medical issues senior year, so I spent alot of time studying for the GED. I also was an honors and AP student with excellent grades and studied for the ACT for a full year and got a 31.

English Tutoring

I scored a 32 in English and 34 on Reading on the ACT. I was a 4.0 student in honors english throughout highschool. I also am an avid reader and active writer with lots of experience in formal writing.

Criminal Justice Tutoring

I have taken over 18 hours of criminal justice courses. I received an A in my Deviance course, criminology, correctional institutions. I've also taken domestic violence, violence in society, criminal procedure, and criminal law. I have a passion for criminal justice.

Writing Advance Tutoring

I scored a 30 on ACT writing portion. I've gotten A's in college writing intensive courses such as Writing About Literature, Peoples of Latin America, and Politics of Latino Education. I've also learned how to do formal writing for sociology courses and research proposals.

Biology Tutoring

I took honors biology in high school. I've taken a biology module during a college science course where I got an A. I also got a 30 in science on my ACT.

Literature Tutoring

I took AP Literature in High School. I also have taken Writing About Literature in College and maintained an A. I also have an interest in literature and am an avid reader.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I scored a 34 in reading and 32 in English on the ACT. I have taking numerous literature and reading and writing intensive courses that have allowed me to improve my reading comprehension skills. I received an A in my Writing About Literature course and in my Sociology of Latin America that all dealt with foreign texts and helped improve my reading comprehension skills.

Sociology Tutoring

I am a Sociology major at a Jesuit Institution which means my entire formal education has been framed around social justice ideals. I've taken multiple courses that relate sociology to the criminal justice system. I also made an A in my Sociology of Latin America course which was very writing intensive.

Spanish I Tutoring

I took four years of Honors Spanish in High School and received all A's. I also placed into third year Spanish when I took my college placement test. I've also done Rosetta Stone to brush when I haven't been taking formal spanish classes to help me with my conversational Spanish and to make sure I was retaining my spanish knowledge.

Study Skills Tutoring

I have been able to maintain a 3.25 gpa throughout college while working 50 hours a week so my time management and study skills are tested and true. I think that flashcards are still very useful and firmly believe in writing things out and using real life examples to help material stick. I think a big part of studying is great note taking and that's something that most people don't do and that I can teach.

I scored in the 99th percentile of writers in the PSAT.s. I was awarded A Prairie State Achievement Award for Writing when I took the PSAE as a high school senior. In College, I've maintained A's in writing intensive courses.

I think details are important for reading exams. I also have been able to use my skills in reading to excel in college courses.

I took the PSAT in high school and tested in the 99th percentile for writing. I received the highest writing score at my high school. I did a ton PSAT prep work on my own and also took an ACT course and applied the same principles to studying for the PSAT.

STAAR Reading Tutoring

I got a 34 on the reading portion of my ACT. I believe in having a sharp eye for details helps readers. I also think reading the questions before the passage helps you get the right answer. Reading comprehension and writing about reading passages is a strength of mine.

STAAR Science Tutoring

I received a 30 on the science portion of my ACT. I've taken various honors science courses as well as college science courses. I believe science fundamentals need to be learned before you can do well on science testing.

Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring

I've made hundreds of power point presentations throughout my academic career. I'm also trained in PREZI. I've done alot of different formatting and arranging on Powerpoint and am well versed in the program.

Microsoft Word Tutoring

I've been using word since I started using computers. I used to volunteer with the Freret Street Neighborhood Center and part of my job was teaching residents and students how to work programs like Word. I use word all the time in college to write formal essays.

Networking Tutoring

I've maintained a job as a social media promoter/networker for a New Orleans based production company for the passed 3 years. We've been able to sell out their biggest festival the past 2 years because of the great networking and marketing we've done. I'm also well versed in Linkedin and social networks.
