About Me
I am a senior Biomedical Engineering major at New Jersey Institute of Technology. I've been on the Dean's List for 2 years in row. When I graduate, I will go back for a Master's in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. My goal is to work as a research scientist working for the CDC or a pharmaceutical company creating vaccines for diseases.
To help others, I usually like to teach from the teacher's lesson plan or the student's syllabus (which ever is applicable), then go from there. Usually re-emphasis key terms in class, review example/homework/supplemental problems, make study guides too. This is what I currently use and what was recommended to me by a few of my professors. However, I adapt to student's learning abilities and make a best-fit learning style to each learner.
Experience
In high school, I was a education/new-jersey/newark">special education instructor where I assisted students who were behind academically by creating lesson plans which included a variety of topics ranging from personal hygiene, goal pursuit, study skills, and math. I also taught high school students the importance of teamwork by heavily incorporating weekly team building activities. This experience gave me not only leadership experience but also allowed me to help students in need.
Approach
Being the first one in my family to go to college is a huge thing not only for me but my family. I am very fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to go to college and study a very challenging major which I am excelling in. I believe that I have keen ideas and experience on how to further motivate the upcoming generation to shape themselves into becoming intelligent and helpful adults. My mission statement is to help build the next generation of engineers that can contribute to society
