About Me

My name is Tiffany Turkenkopf and I love to teach. I am 20 years old and will be 21 in August. I don't smoke or drink, I think my asthma would not be too happy with me. I am majoring in Theatre Education and Grand Canyon University and I expect to graduate in May of 2014. I am very passionate about learning and I love sharing that passion with others.

I was a peer phoenix">tutor throughout high school and phoenix">tutoring an adult student in my college algebra class. I have been told, when helping younger students, that I am very patient and thorough with students. I feel at home when teaching or helping instruct someone, I remember playing school all the time with my younger sister and I always insisted on being the teacher.

My approach all depends on the subject being tackled. If writing is the subject, then an outline is one of the first things on the list. Without a good base to jump off, the paper will fall flat. Then comes ideas and content work. The ideas have to be there, everything else can follow. I am a little bit of a "grammar nazi" when it comes to editing papers.
For reading, I make sure to stop every now and then and check for understanding by asking simple questions, such as, "What just happened in that section?" I am also versed in Aristotelian analysis points and use those frequently when I am reading myself.
Math is a fun subject to phoenix">tutor for me because it is logical and precise. I love teaching algebraic equations, although I do struggle when it comes to geometry.
