Fun Facts

I love watching old movies and traveling to new places or exploring familiar ones like my native San Francisco. I am always up for a fun card or board game, or a stroll outside on a sunny day! When the weather isn't great I am likely to be found at a fine arts museum. I am involved in a variety of campus organizations, including a sustainability club and an undergraduate history journal.

About Me

I will be a junior this fall at Indiana University in Bloomington, majoring in Italian as well as Rome and the Renaissance. I am an honors student and have received recognition for academic achievement since my freshman year. In the future I would like to educate others about Italian art, history, and culture in a classroom and/or museum setting.

My first tutoring experience was in the fifth grade, when I helped first graders learn how to read. For part of a semester in high school I tutored a younger student in Latin, and for a summer I tutored an ESL 8th grader in English and pre-algebra. I have always enjoyed helping other students and watching them learn and improve. I am eager to give more students the help and guidance they need and I am glad I have this opportunity through Frog Tutoring!

I believe that all students have potential and strengths. When a student doesn't understand a concept or struggles more generally with studying, I see it as a river they have to cross to get to where they need to be. My role as a tutor is to help them, using the strengths they already possess, to build a bridge across and arrive at that goal, a process which in itself will make them grow in skill and confidence.
