Fun Facts
I enjoy board games, sketching, and creative writing. When outside, I love hiking, and playing sports such as ultimate, soccer and tennis. I also practice Chinese martial arts.
About Me
I am a master's student in Environmental Engineering studying at UC Berkeley. My main interest is in wastewater resource recovery. Before attending Berkeley, I worked as a full-time project engineer. I completed my undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. I am a positive person with skills in both math, sciences and writing.
Experience
As the president of the national engineering honor society at Cornell, I spearheaded mentoring and tutoring initiatives. I am also part of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiative that encourage minority students to continue pursuing engineering studies. I have experience managing large groups, and verbal and written communication.
Approach
I believe with the right communication, and understanding, any student can learn any topic. The key is understanding what the student comprehends, and what the student struggles with, and then presenting that information in a manner the student can engage with. As a tutor, I encourage my students to critically think, and equip them with the tools and skills necessary to tackle all kinds of problems. My goal is not to give the students answers, but to train them in finding the answers themselves.
