Fun Facts
I like to go shopping, but I am not a compulsive buyer. I like to work out, but I am not a muscle man (Well, not yet!). I like to swim, but I don't do that often (that's because the pool in my university is too cold!). I am not a native speaker of English, but I am a good ESL teacher!!
About Me
I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, proficient in both traditional and simplified Chinese characters and both Zhuyin and Pinyin systems. I can help you with the Chinese language, English as a second language, and any course in the TESOL program. I play the piano very well, and have ever competed in piano contests, so I can teach you piano, too.
In my TESOL practicum in the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at cleveland-state-university">Cleveland State University in summer 2012, I tutored a lot of ESL students, helping them with their homework, writing, and grammar. In the following semester (fall 2012), I was hired by the program director as a cleveland">tutor in the IELP. I assisted the ESL students at all proficiency levels in understanding English grammar points, writing conventions, vocabulary, homework assignment, and strategies to facilitate their reading and listening comprehension.
I like to have students think by themselves before I give the answer(s), so that they can remember well. But, I can use any teaching approach the students prefer or request. I can prepare some learning activities and materials tailored to the students if I am told what to teach in advance. When I am not cleveland">tutoring, I can be friends with my students.
