Fun Facts
Before becoming more committed to academics and community service in college, I enjoyed playing lacrosse for 12 years. I'm the youngest of three children from Raleigh, North Carolina. I think the thing I love the most is the natural world, whether it's animals, the science of nature, and psychology of people.
About Me
I am a junior level Classical Studies major, which means that I study Latin, Roman literature and history for my major. I also study psychology and pre-med hard sciences. I hope to attend medical school in North Carolina and ultimately become a practicing physician. If that doesn't work out, I want to become involved in some sort of academic-related research relating to physiology or psychology.
Experience
I have lots of experience with tutoring people who are new to subjects, including biology, latin, and middle-school-aged students at the Boys and Girls club. During my senior year of high school at Ravenscroft in NC, I was a volunteer assistant coach for the middle school wrestling team.
Approach
As a child and through high school, I really did struggle quite a bit with grades, barely getting by in fact. My latin teacher in high school, named Dr. Avery, inspired me to continue Latin, where I realized that my interests in psychology, history, politics, economics, and literary criticism are all relevant. I feel like it's my duty to help students realize not only their potential but also their strengths. My hope is to guide students to meet their own needs.
