About Me
I am an Elementary Education (Kindergarten through 5th) and Special Education(Preschool through 12) major and am currently a sophomore in college. I plan to graduate and immediately go to school for my Occupational Therapy degree. I love working with children and so have made that my career's goal. I especially enjoy witnessing the first time a student realizes how to solve a problem on their homework, that is what I strive for in my tutoring.
I tutored throughout high school for my school's elementary, middle, and high school students after school as a volunteer. I continue to tutor as a volunteer for my classmates in college. In high school I tutored students in math through trigonometry and pre-calculus as well as chemistry through AP Chemistry. I have also tutored all levels of the other core subjects.
I consider my tutoring approach to be fun, engaging, and useful. I believe that if a student finds a passion or understanding for why a specific homework problem or subject works the way it does, then they will also find the reason they need to learn more about it. As a child, I suffered with completing simple homework tasks and containing my attention on a subject. This has allowed me to realize the many different ways to learn. I tend to use many anacronyms as well as memorization tools; although, memorization is not the only thing I strive for while tutoring. I also strive to allow the student to understand subjects and not just memorize it's content.
