About Me

I am currently a junior, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology major at Towson University. I am involved on campus through my positions as Vice President of Membership of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, and Vice President of Community Service of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I have been on the Dean's List twice during my academic career. I expect to graduate in May 2014. Afterwards, I hope to gain entry to a graduate program so that I can become a speech language pathologist in either the hospital or school setting.

I have tutoring experience as a math tutor at the Academic Achievement Center at Towson University. I am a Level 1 CRLA Certified Tutor. I tutor lower level math subjects. My tutoring experience includes Finite Mathematics, Algebra, Basic Math for the Sciences, Precalculus, and Basic Statistics. I facilitate and encourage learning to over ten students a day. I enjoy motivating other students to achieve their academic excellence through study strategies.

I cater my tutoring approach to each student's learning style. I focus on homework problems and examples that are taught in class. I go beyond this through selecting other similar examples that will demonstrate full understanding of the material. Exam preparation involves creating practice tests for students to complete in order to simulate the testing experience. I assign deadlines for students in order to properly manage time for studying and homework.
